Learn where millionaires live and what kind of houses they have
Millionaires seem to flock together. There are about 100 million households in the United States. Of them, only about 5% are in the millionaire category. This is a pretty minute amount of the overall population.
Millions seem to all migrate to the same neighborhoods. The average millionaire lives in a neighborhood hood where a full 80% of the other people in that neighborhood are also millionaires.
The majority of the homes in these neighborhood are valued at $1,000,000 or more. Most of the rest are at least worth $500,000.
These neighborhoods are well established, and the average home of a millionaire was built in 1958. Why is the wealthy population living in older homes? There is a perfectly good explanation for this, it is because they know how to make money in real estate rather than lose it.
Most millionaires view their home as an investment. The majority of millionaire homes are currently worth at least a million dollars, but they did not pay that price. Rather than moving repeatedly, losing money each turn, they choose to choose a quality house in a great neighborhood and let it rise in value.
And the typical millionaire home may not be the gigantic mansion you assume. The majority of them live in moderate houses that do not exceed their needs by too much. The average house where millionaires live has 4-5 bedrooms and 3-4 bathrooms. The huge 10+ bedroom mansions are not as common as a more practical home.
And one more thing to not is that fully 40% of millionaires have complete ownership of their house and have no mortgage payment. Rarely do they have large mortgage payments or several hundred thousand dollars.
