Plus content will ensure return visitors, another critical component. Get Some Exposure You need to build a presence for your website, and that means that you need to get it noticed by a wide audience. Two of my favorite ways to do this are directory listings and article marketing. Listing your website in many free and paid website directories will drive targeted traffic to your site directly from the directories, and it will also increase your search engine rankings. Article Marketing accomplishes the same thing, and the results are often superior that the former. I recommend a combination of both. Become Active There are many other quick and easy ways to get some recognition for your site by the search engines and also to drive bonus traffic to it. You can list free online classified ads, you can post bulletins on craigslist, and you can get active in forums and discussions in which you could promote your website to interested people. All of these things are great little ways to generate a little extra traffic, but the search engines will be your biggest source of traffic, as long as you follow the steps above. Develop Return Visitors Generating fresh leads is a must, but if you really want your website traffic to snowball, you need to be able and develop return visitors. The easiest and more effective way to do this is to add a blog onto your site. People can then add your blog to their RSS feed and they will get updated whenever something new is added to your blog.
