Think a positive thought, and then another, and then another. Optimistic thoughts can improve your life.
Thinking is habitual, or at least it is for most people.
This would not be a problem if your habitual thinking is always positive, but this is simply not the case for most people.
Most people think of more negative thoughts than they do positive ones, and therefore they are habitually thinking in a destructive manner.
A major goal of positive thinking should be to create habitual thinking that is both positive and constructive.
It may seem a little overwhelming at first, but it does not need to be this way for you.
In fact it all starts with a single thought.
One positive thought has the power to completely transform your life.
If you will focus on a positive thought you add a your energy to it and therefore you begin to create more positive thoughts.
The more positive thoughts you think, the less negative ones you will be thinking, and therefore your habitual thinking will begin to change.
Imagine a dark room. The darkness is your negative thinking.
Can darkness survive in the light?
No, it will disappear as soon as the light appears.
Just the same, the negative thoughts cannot reside in the presence of positive thoughts.
And your attitude can only be one way at any given time, positive or negative.
And if every time you consciously begin switching negative thoughts fors more positive ones, in you are adding more light to dark and dissolving more of the darkness, or the negativity of your life.
So if you ever find yourself in a downward spiral, and you do not feel that you have any control over your thinking or your life, you need to simply sit quietly and think of something that brings you pleasure and happiness.
Then focus on this and give it much of your attention.
When you control the direction of your attention, you will that empower yourself to lead the life of your dreams.
You will be able to make any desire a reality, and any goal will be in your reach.
