What is the importance of motivation? Procrastination is a success killer, and motivation kills procrastination to fulfill potential!
If you are anything like most people then you have either a small or large problem with procrastination.
People postpone all sorts of tasks they want to accomplish, and the longer they put them off, the less likely they are to actually do them.
It is been said by a very famous motivational speaker that “Tomorrow is a day only found on the calendar of fools.”
Indeed too many people suffer from the disease of excusititis, always making excuses why they are doing what needs to be done.
If you want to achieve success you need to overcome procrastination.
Procrastination is a success killer, and if you have hopes of reaching your goals, you need to overcome it before it ruins your chances.
Let’s take a look at some lines from a very popular motivational self-help book entitled your erroneous zones written by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer.
In the short lines we will see why in order to reach your highest levels of success and to fulfill your unlimited potential, you need to get into the habit of taking immediate action and not putting things off to a later date.
Three neurotic phrases of the procrastinator make up the support system for maintaining the putting-it-off behavior.
“I hope things will work out.”
“I wish things were better.”
“Maybe it’ll be OK.”
There you have the deferrers delight.
As long as you can say maybe, or hope, or wish, you can use these as a rationale for not doing anything now.
All wishing and hoping are a waste of time-the folly of the fairyland residents.
No amount of either ever got anything accomplished.
They are merely convenient escape clauses from rolling up your sleeves and taking on the tasks that you decided are important enough to be on your list of life activities.
You can do anything that you set your mind to accomplish.
You are strong, capable, and not the least bit brittle.
But by putting things off for a future moment, you’re giving in to escapism, self doubt, and most significantly, self delusion.
Your putting-it-off zone is a movement away from being strong in your now, and toward the direction of hoping that things will improve in the future.
And that my friends is the importance of motivation. When you have enough positive motivation in your life you will always have the drive you need to take advantage of opportunities so you can fulfill your potential and enjoy success in every area of life.
