Before I tell you where you can submit to search engines for free, let’s discuss a few of the absolutely critical component of search engine optimization.
Before submitting your site to the engines, you need to make sure that it will actually perform the way you hope it will.
Most websites are not completely search engine friendly, and therefore the webmasters get discouraged and get frustrated when their traffic is stagnant.
How much more exciting would it be if month after month, and week after week, your traffic grew larger and larger?
This is exactly what happened to me over the past nine months, ever since I started doing the things that I’m going to tell you about right here.
The first is making your website content rich.
The content of your website is how the engines will list your site.
The more content that you have, the more keywords you will be able to utilize, and therefore the more search terms your site will be found under.
This opens you up to a much larger market and can greatly increase your traffic.
I like to build hundreds of pages on my website all using their own keyword.
I select keywords that are not only relevant to my target audience, but also ones that are low in competition, therefore giving me a better chance of getting top placement.
I’ll cultivate a long list of keywords, and then write small pages, usually 300 to 400 words, focusing on each keyword.
Not only does this open you up to many more search terms, but the more content your website has, the more pleasing it will be to the search engines and your human visitors.
Return visitors are also great, and content is what keeps people coming back for more.
For me this is an ongoing process, but you should try and have 20 to 30 content rich pages before submitting your website.
A website smaller than that will have very little if any effect at the engines.
Another necessity that you need to take care of before submitting to the search engines is increasing your link popularity.
Inbound links are links from other websites to your website.
Search engines will spider the websites they know about, and this is how they find websites that are new.
If your site is relatively new, you most likely need to spend some time in developing your link popularity.
My personal favorite ways to do this are using the free directories that list quality websites, and also doing some article marketing and promoting my website that way.
Doing all of this will greatly enhance the results you get with your internet marketing efforts.
You’ll be able to generate more than enough traffic to sustain and build your business.
