Search engines websites are the most powerful websites on the internet. There is not a more powerful way get massive amounts of visitors to your website than getting listed highly in the major engines like Google, Yahoo, Ask, and Live.

Whether your website is for your business or if your site is your business, you know that getting traffic is a big deal. Traffic equals profits, and as I said, the best way to guarantee that you have enough traffic to thrive is to get your site into the top listings in the engines for keywords (search terms) that your target marketing will most likely use.

So what is it about a site that determines whether it will do well at the engines or whether it will be just one of the other millions of sites that does not get hardly any traffic at all?

There are many small factors that play a small part, but there are three that are critical and will ultimately determine whether you get a traffic flood or a traffic drought.

The three factors are:

It is better to choose keywords that have lower levels of competition. This way you can quickly reach the top listings.



• Link Popularity- the more in-pointing links that you have from other credible websites, the more attention your will get from the engines. Link building is a must, and it should be an ongoing process. Just as with content, the more…the better.
