Avoid search engine spam, it will kill your chances of online marketing success

When I first started out building my online business, I got some bad advice that cost me a lot of time, and it put a huge damper on the profits that my business could have seen.

I heard that since the engines run on keywords, the more I stuffed into my pages, the more traffic I would get. So I did it, and I was very disappointed at the results.

Not only was I not getting the kind of traffic I wanted, I actually got dropped from the engines entirely. I was very frustrated, but rather than quitting, I decided to find out what had went wrong.

I should have look at the results that other were getting before I gave it a try. Had I done this I would have realized that none of these search engine spammers were getting any traffic at all.

That is essential what they were doing, keyword spamming the engines in hopes of tricking them into some free traffic. But can anyone really trick the engines?

Maybe temporarily, but in the long term, and attempts to manipulate the m will only backfire. Search engines are smart, and they only continue to get smarter.

They instantly recognize when they are being manipulated, and the sites that are doing this are dropped from the listings. They hate spam just as much as you or I, and they do not tolerate it what so ever.

Your best bet is to always play by their rules. The search engines can be very generous when it comes to website traffic, and if you give them what they want rather than trying to fool them, you will benefit by being one of the select sites who are playing the SEO game….and actually winning.
