The more content you have, the more available search terms you will have that people can type into the engines to find your sites. So always write your own content, or hire someone to do it. Unoriginal content that is used on a lot of sites, like a lot of articles are, will not add much, if anything, to the amount of traffic you get from the engines, or your overall credibility and search engine rank.
