Sam Walton

Sam Walton was born in the farmlands of Oklahoma in the early 19th century. By the time of his death in 1992, he had amassed more than $58.6 Billion dollars, making him the eleventh richest man in American history.

He started out in the business world in Arkansas. There he ran a variety store for several years.

But it wasn’t until he was 44 years old that he opened his first Wal-Mart store. The first store was located in Rogers, Arkansas, and because of the best-in-town prices, it became a huge success.

That was the beginning of the Wal-Mart legacy, but it was only the tip of the iceberg. Wal-Mart is now one of the most successful retail chains in history, and the entire Walton family is inherently wealthy.

While his stores may have looked like your typical retail shops, they had a couple of characteristics that made them unique and lucrative.

He had a mission to provide his products at the lowest prices possible. His relentless price cutting allowed him to develop a huge following, and even though he was selling everything of razor thin margins, he was able to build a true fortune.

The second secret to Walton’s success was his personality. He was known to be a cheerful, colorful, and very friendly man. This was a common theme in his first Wal-Mart stores, and it continues to be a major part of this business’s success.
