Developing Multiple Income Sources....From One Place!!
No matter what your personal financial goals may be at this time, having multiple income sources is always the best way to financial bliss, and to set yourself up for a financially free future. Financial freedom and true wealth are most easily created when you have many income sources producing income for you around the clock.
It's may be cliché to use the phrase "Never put all your eggs in one basket," but this statement contains a lot of wisdom when it comes to creating a home business and developing a number of income models. What does "putting all your eggs in one basket?" have to do with starting a home business? It means that you should never give all your attention to one monetization plan, one source of income. Why? Well what happens if that basket breaks? You have no eggs, AND NO INCOME!! That is why you need to create multiple income sources, you need to diversify!!
Diversification is a powerful concept that relates to all occupational fields. Retail store owners obviously need to supply a wide variety of products, service sellers are most successful when they build a diverse bank of reliable customers, investors generally have a number of different investments in a variety of markets, and the list goes on and on. Home business owners are no different, and in fact they are blessed to have multiple monetization methods at their disposal. That is the greatest part of starting a online home based business.....it is easy and efficient to develop multiple income sources all from one place!!
Home business owners that have
their own site
have the ability to create multiple income sources easily and efficiently. Once a website begins to get steady traffic, be it from the search engines or other marketing strategies, all the monetization models can work to generate money at the same time, 24/7. It doesn't take a lot of extra effort to incorporate multiple income sources, and once the initial setup is over, those income streams will work on auto-pilot, day in and day out.
The main goal of most home business owners is to maximize profits by making money on as much of the website traffic as possible. If you have only implemented one stream of income into your website, then you will only earn money from a few of you visitors. Why waste the rest?!! It is so much better to set up multiple income sources so that you can monetize more and more of your visitors. This adds to your overall Net-business profits, and if one "basket" (monetization model) happens to break, you still have many others that will hold eggs. You will never be left without a source of money flowing in your direction.
So what are the various ways to monetize a website so that you can create multiple income sources, easily and effectively? I am going describe several simple ways to earn money on a website. These strategies can each be used to earn thousands of dollars a month, and when combined on a
high traffic website
the income potential is unlimited.
Online Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is an incredibly easy way to add multiple income sources to your website. It's simple to add a variety of related affiliate products, depending on what the visitors to your site would be most interested in purchasing. Affiliate marketing is free and there are plenty of companies that offer affiliate marketing products and services that will accommodate a wide range of site concepts. You don't need to process any orders, take payments from buyers, or handle any customer service issues. If you have a content rich website that receives traffic, then you do not need to pre-sell the affiliate products.....you site does that already by attracting people that are likely already interested. Just make sure that your affiliate offerings are congruent to your visitor’s interests, and they will naturally sell very easily.
Getting Paid for Advertising Space
This is something that all online businesses should profit from. Most online business owners, network marketers, and affiliates do not have their own site. This means that instead of getting free traffic all thanks to the search engines (which only website owners are entitled to), these individuals are always looking for places (usually other website related to their products) to promote their offerings. This is great news for those of us that do have a website. You can easily add multiple income sources by hosting other businesses advertisements and promotions on your site.
Google Adsense makes this incredibly easy by simply adding a simple string of HTML code to you pages..... And that's it!! Google places relevant ads on your pages (depending on the market you attract, which they know automatically), collects the revenue, and sends you your cut.
Some home business owners feel that this may take away from their primary income streams (THEIR affiliate products ect.), but this is not necessarily true. Let's say that you have 100,000 visitors a month coming to your website. How many of them are actually buying anything? Maybe a few hundred or a few thousand? What about all the others? Most people love to spend time just cruising around the Internet and never really have the intent to buy anything. Why let these people have a free ride through your site, why not earn from them? Set up some Google ads and let them click away, making you money with every click. The people that are going to buy will still buy, but now you can earn on all of the casual surfers for multiple income sources. This is an easy way to generate anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand dollars per month of added income.
Utilizing Numerous Network Marketing Programs
Network marketing is by far one of the hottest Net-business models today, and it can be very profitable for those that are funneling traffic to a content rich site that does a great job pre-selling visitors and signing them up. However, many network marketers only utilize one program, and try and push all of their visitors to sign-up without any other options. Is this the best idea? Well, probably not because most people love options, choices, and variety.
As humans we like to feel in total control of the decisions we make, and we like to feel that we are in control of any purchases we make. When you have only one network marketing program to offer, many people feel like they are being sold and pressured into it....which is not nearly as effective as letting them make a decision on their own. It has proven very advantageous for me to recommend a few different, high quality network marketing opportunities on my site. This way I am giving my visitors options. Now they have the choice and can make the decision as to which one will work best for them. I will not care which program they decide upon, they are all going to be in one of my downlines, earning me money. They are adding multiple income sources to my website! You can also create separate pages for each of these opportunities, keyword them accordingly, and achieve even more traffic from the engines. Remember, it's all about diversification, so never settle on one program when you can use a few for multiple income sources. You income will not decrease, on the contrary, it will grow with leaps and bounds.
Generating Leads for Other Businesses
Many businesses, be it offline or on, are willing to pay a great deal for targeted leads that are valuable to their business. If you have any content pages on your site that are not monetizing well (making you much money), then you may be better off monetizing them by earning referral and finder fees for other businesses. It's very simple to send traffic to another business, and of course you earn a profit. Depending on the nature of your website and your target market, you can generate referrals, leads, and customers for offline or online businesses. This should only be done on pages that are currently getting traffic, however not monetizing well with your current method. In this case, this can add to your bottom line and diversification by sending these visitors (at a cost of course) to other businesses they may be able to better utilize them, once again adding multiple income sources and adding to your income diversification.
Selling Your Own Hard Goods or E-Goods
Do you have any goods that you can begin selling through your website? Selling your own goods can be another way to diversify your online income. E-goods are obviously the most convenient, and anyone can publish an eBook or newsletter without any cost. Create an eBook with whatever knowledge you have, and sell it at a moderate price to visitors on your site. If you are an expert in your field (or have knowledge on anything for that matter) you can sell yourself to others who are seeking the information that you can provide. If your online business is off and running, and requiring less of your time, you may want to help out others achieve higher levels of success. This is not a free service you provide, but rather another way to turn your online business activities into multiple income streams.
Selling hard goods is also a route that can add income to your bottom line. If your business concept allows for it, you can consider utilizing any hard goods you may be able to sell, either your own or through a partner vendor. Since you already have your own website, you will not be relying on eBay to supply your potential customers. You already have targeted traffic visiting your site, and you can then redirect them to your eBay store, or sell the goods directly from one of your sites pages. Paypal makes it extremely simple to take payments and process orders.
Webmaster Donations
Very few people seem to utilize this method, but I have seen some website owners enjoy great success with it. If you are offering valuable information to your visitors, and not just trying to pressure them into buying, then you will no doubt develop a relationship with your visitors. If you are receiving a lot of return customers (which can easily be seen by comparing your total visitors to your unique visitors), then you are obviously highly favored as a valuable resource to a number of people. Many people are more than willing to support a webmaster that is continuously giving them great information. It is very simple to set up a Paypal account (or use one that you already have) and have it linked to a donations button on your site. People that enjoy coming to your site and find it valuable will often be happy to donate a few bucks to keep your business going. It obviously won't be your primary method of monetizing, but any income stream is a good income stream, and it all adds to your bottom line profits.
Deciding on Your Monetization Plan....
Not all of these techniques will work for every online business, but least a few of them should. The methods themselves can be broken up into a variety of income streams (like recommending more than one program, product, or service.) The key is to build the largest possible income with what you have. It should definitely be every online business owner’s goal to monetize as many of his/her visitors as possible. Adding more income streams can even give your more ideas for pages and content to create, and give you the ability to utilize a greater number of keywords and reach a larger target audience. Over time you will build an ever increasing online income, and develop multiple income sources that passively earn you money whether you are working or not.
And of course, a diversified income is a stable income. Take much of the stress away from your business by giving yourself backup plans and other ways to profit, just in case your main offerings are not performing as well as they should. Diversify and survive......and prosper in the long run.
