Maintaining your motivation is an essential ingredient to reach your goals
You know what one of the most common reasons for failure is?
The willingness to quit before the goals have been reached is the most common cause of failure, and one that plagues all too many people.
When you quit you are creating your own failure, a failure that would have been avoidable if you did not made that terrible decision to give up.
Many people quit because of an unexpected obstacle or a minor setback.
For some reason they mistake these inevitable challenges as failures, and they throw in the towel.
But the obstacle or setback was not the cause of their failure, but it was their willingness to quit.
When you quit you fail, and if you fail to quit, you will succeed.
So what keeps some people going past the point where most will stop?
Well simply put they are good at maintaining their self motivation.
And if you want to achieve the goals that you desire to achieve, maintaining your motivation is critical.
People lose their motivation because they lose sight of their goals.
When they first start a venture or decide to pursue something that is important to them, they are excited, ambitious, and highly motivated.
But often as time goes on they get sidetracked with other ideas and they put less and less attention on their primary goal.
When this happens they inevitably lose motivation because their goal is not the foremost thoughts in their mind, as it needs to be.
A real key to maintaining motivation is giving daily attention to your goals.
I find it useful to take small steps every day, even if they are minor and do not seem necessary.
The reason being is that when I do anything that takes me closer to my goal. Even just a little bit, it keeps my vision in my mind and its keeps me motivated so that I do not lose sight of what is truly important.
When you decide on something that you really want to achieve, and you decide to strive to attain it, make the commitment to never quit.
Also make the commitment to give your goal daily attention and to take small steps no matter what.
In this way you will always have the motivation to continue, and you’ll be less likely to quit when a small setback or obstacle presents itself.
The path to success is never completely smooth, and there will be bumps and rocks in the road.
Do not let these stop you but rather find ways over or around them, and continue your pursuit.
