The automobile industry has seen the same increase. In the 1960’s in was no longer cool to be rich. People with money were much more modest, so luxury vehicle manufacturers were in pain. Today flaunting ones wealth is as popular as ever, and the cars have followed suit.
Two of the most popular cars among the rich are a Rolls Royce Phantom and a Mercedes Maybach. Both of the large, flashy, luxury vehicles are priced well over $300K.
And the private jet industry is also booming, and sales are continuing to skyrocket. . It is if having a plane is almost standard amongst the very wealthy population.
The price has also increased, along with luxurious amenities like toilet seats made out of alligator skin and gold on almost all of the fixtures, including the seat belt buckets. The cheapest planes go for about $13,000, and the top of the line models will cost you $50K.
