Real and lasting motivation comes from within. How to ignite your own burning desire for personal progress and development
Everyone has their own unique goals, dreams, and aspirations.
Some people are motivated to have a great body and to be perfectly healthy.
Others are motivated by advancement in their career.
Others are motivated simply by possible financial gain.
Setting a goal and being motivated to accomplish it is a great thing, but if you want to enjoy a lifetime of success and happiness, you need to develop lasting motivation that stems from an unchangeable internal outlook.
When you have an inner passion for growth, development, and expansion, your life will be filled with success, wealth, happiness, and anything else that you desire.
To illustrate the power of this internal motivation, as well as show you how you can begin to develop it, I want to share with you some very powerful words of inspirations from a true master of success and motivation, Denis Waitley from his book The Psychology of Winning.
the positive self motivation of total winners derives from two sources: (1) their self expectant personal and world view and (2) their awareness that, while fear and desire are among the greatest motivators, fear is destructive while desire leads to achievement, success and happiness.
With this in mind, they focus their thinking on the rewards of success and actively to about fears of failure.
Losers say: “I can’t because….”
Winners say “I want to”… And “I can!”
we’re all self motivated a little or a lot.
Motivation is an inside job. Individuals are motivated by their fears, inhibitions, compulsions and attractions.
They are pushed away from or pulled toward concepts and people who act as negative or positive magnets.
Realizing the almost impossible task of moving away from negative concepts such as “fat,” “poor,” “sick,” “klutz”…
Winners focus on goals, desires, and the solutions.
Since most of our fears are based on dark imaginings, it is vital for us to dwell on our magnificent obsessions and desired results-to look at where we want to go, as opposed to that troubled place where we may have been or may still be hiding.
People resist changing because it upsets their present security. People will change dramatically when it’s a matter of life or death. And people will change happily and effectively… When they want to.
