Learn how to develop positive attitude traits in seven simple steps
Do you know all of the awesome, life changing benefits of having a positive mental attitude?
If so, than you will want to learn how to develop positive attitude traits in your own mind, and that is what I want to help you with today.
The book The Power of Positive Thinking is one of my personal favorites, and I want to share some of Norman Vincent Peales’ tips from that book.
#1- see how many people you can help to cure their own worry habit. In helping others to overcome worry you get greater power over it within yourself.
#2- cultivate friendships with hopeful people. Surround yourself with friends who think positive, faith producing thoughts and can contribute to a creative atmosphere. This will help keep you filled with faith attitudes.
#3- never participate in a worry conversation. Shoot an injection of faith into all of your conversations. A group of people talking pessimistically can infect every person in the group with negativism. But by talking things up rather than down you can drive off a depressing atmosphere and make everyone feel hopeful and happy.
#4- practice saying something positive concerning everything about which you have been talking negatively. Talk positively. For example, don’t say, “This is going to be a terrible day.” Instead, affirm, “This is going to be a glorious day.” Don’t say, “I will never be able to do that.” Instead, affirm, “With god’s help I will do that.”
#5- Practice faith. First thing every morning before you arise and say out loud “I believe,” three times.
#6- you became a worrier by practicing worry. You can become free of worry by practicing the opposite and stronger habit of faith. With all the strength and perseverance you can command, start practicing faith.
#7- say to yourself, “worry is just a very bad mental habit. And I can change any habit with god’s help.”
Developing a positive mental attitude to replace a negative one will have a positive impact on all areas of your life.
You will find the good things of life beginning to flow in your direction, and old conditions that displeased you will gradually vanish.
If you change your thoughts you can change your life.
