Fredrick Weyerhaeuser
Fredrick Weyerhaeuser is the second German immigrant who has secured a spot in the top ten richest Americans of all time. He is number 9, and he had a fortune of $72.2 Billion dollars.
After coming to the United States, he started at the bottom of the ladder. He worked many menial jobs, the kind that trap people into a financial struggle for a lifetime.
But Fredrick was not your average man. He had the desire for wealth and the courage to see his vision out.
His biggest break came when he decided to buy millions of acres of forestland from the famous J.J. Hill, who was the railroad baron at the time.
The land he purchased was highly undervalued, and therefore he almost instantly made the jump to big money. The timber business proved to be incredibly lucrative, and it was made possible because he saw value where others did not.
The land that he bought at bargain rates made him a huge player in the timber industry. He quickly went from working his dead end jobs to being known as the Timber King. This business skyrocketed Weyerhaeuser to levels of wealth that most people cannot even fathom.
His story proves that anyone can get rich. It does not require that you have a rich family or are in a certain line of work. All it takes is the ability to see the right opportunities and the courage to pursue them.
