There are many different strategies for maximizing achievement. The topic of success and goal setting is something that I have been a student of for years, and I have learned some terrific strategies that can help you effectively set and reach any goal that you choose. The following examples of goal setting strategies will help you decide what you truly want to achieve in your life, and then put yourself on the path that will get you there. Don’t Sell Yourself Short Many people limit the amount of success that they achieve because they sell themselves short when deciding what is possible. If you feel something to be impossible, it will be impossible for you because you will never even try. Never limit your goals to what you think you can do. You can do anything you set your mind to, so when setting your goals think zero limits and create the vision of your ideal life. Get It In Writing Until you write your goals on paper, they should not really be considered goals. Goals are definite, and goals are concrete. Write your goals out on paper, and set a deadline for their accomplishment. This will become a powerful source of motivation for you. Visualize Them Belief has a definite impact on what you are able to achieve. Before you can ever achieve anything you must believe that you can and will. Visualization is a great way to “trick” your mind into believing that you have achieved it, and then subconscious will guide you along the way. Show With Actions, Not Words As I mentioned above, belief plays a huge role in your ability to achieve your goals. Unfortunately many people begin to lose their belief in themselves when they are discouraged by other people. Realize that most people don’t have goals of their own and will break your goals down in an attempt to hold you back. That is why it is sometimes better to keep your goals to yourself and share them only with other people who will be positive and supportive. Become a Mountain Top Thinker The biggest accomplishment are achieved by setting and reaching many smaller goals. Setting short term goals are great for keeping you on the way toward your bigger goals, but it is the bigger goals that really set the direction of your life. Look into the future and decide what you want to achieve, what you want your life to be. From knowing this you will be able to set smaller goals that will bring the bigger vision to life. Stick With It If you are one of those people who is constantly jumping from one idea to another, it is time that you focus on one of them. You cannot spread your energy in too many places and still achieve success. When a goal is large and worthy, it will require much of your attention, and therefore you should be ready to give it exactly that. Pick a goal that is so worthy, so exciting, that you have no problem dedicating yourself to it 100%. When you have passion for what you are striving for your chances for success are much higher. These examples of goal setting strategies have played a huge part in my life, and I hope that they do the same for you.
