A common problem with entrepreneur networking that needs to be avoided.
Entrepreneurial networking has lost a lot of its effectiveness. Rather than trying to build mutually profitable relationships, most entrepreneurs shove their products or services in your face and pressure you to buy.
Is this really the best approach? Well it isn’t a good idea to try and sell customers that way, so what sense does it make to use the same faulty tactics on other business owners who have their own interests in mind.
And that is a key point. All business owners have their own interest at heart. They are out to make a profit, as large of one as possible. So when you come off as only wanting to make money for yourself, you lose their interest before you ever have it.
To effectively reach and sell to customers, you need to know what they need and you need to show them what you can do to meet their needs. Why would you take another approach when dealing with other entrepreneurs?
If you have a product, service, or business opportunity that is profitable for you as well as other business owners, you need to show them what you can do to benefit them, and not the other way around. Get them interested and excited in what you have to offer them and they will seek you instead of you chasing them away.
