Being a long time student of success I have studied many of the world’s greatest entrepreneurs and applied what I learned from them. I also enjoy teaching these principles to others, and I have seen many people enjoy some really terrific success. There are definite characteristics of successful entrepreneurs. Some people are born with them, others have to work to develop them, but they all have them. The first is the entrepreneurial spirit, the force that motivated people to blaze their own trail through life. While some people are perfectly content trading their time for money, adding value to a business that is not theirs, and ultimately working only to help another person get rich, those with the entrepreneurial spirit are not. They know that the only way to earn what you are truly worth, you need to be self employed. But having the desire for more success, wealth, and freedom is not enough. Many of the people who want these things never do anything to make them happen. They want to work for themselves, they may even have the perfect opportunity, yet they do nothing. Because being self employed does not offer any guarantees of success, many people never have the courage to take that first step and give it a try. That is why the courage to act is another much needed trait of successful business owners. So assuming you have the desire and motivation for entrepreneurial success, and you have the courage to seize the right opportunity, all you then need is the ability to keep moving forward without stopping. The ability to persist is the most critical of all characteristics of successful entrepreneurs. We never will know exactly when our goals will be met. It can be so close even when it seems so far away. When you make the commitment not to give up you are guaranteeing your own business success. When you never quit you can never fail.
