Business entrepreneur importance planning. How detailed should your plan be before you get into action?
Planning is kind of a grey line for a lot of people. Many people are huge advocates of planning. They plan and plan, and they make sure that every single detail is in order before they get into action.
There are of course people that sit on the opposite side of this proverbial fence. They are the ones who jump the gun before they are even close to being ready. They dive in head first without checking for rocks.
So where is the balance, how much planning should be done? The key is a balance of planning and action. When you can successfully blend the two you make yourself very powerful.
You should know where you want to end up, and you should have a general idea of how you are going to get there. You cannot plan the entire journey, however, because you do not know how everything will play out.
If you know where you are headed, and you know the nest step in the process, take that step. That is the only step that you should be concerned with at this point in time.
When you are ready for the next step you will better understand how it should be taken. Never try and cross a bridge until you get to it, which is the only way you can.
So while planning is an important part of success in any area, it should never take away from the action that needs to be takes. When you know what to do and you are prepared to do it…go ahead and do just that. If you try and map out every single step from the beginning, you will be one of the unfortunate people who spend a lifetime dreaming big dreams but never actually reach them.
