Andrew Carnegie

Andrew Carnegie is the 2nd richest man in American history. Get all the facts here.

Carnegie may not be a household name, but he is definitely a man worth recognizing. Carnegie was the second richest man in American history, and his story has provided the world with many secrets of success and wealth.

He was born in 1835 and lived until 1919. He came from humble beginnings, yet throughout his life he amassed a fortune of $281.2 Billion dollars.

He started as a bobbin boy in a textile mill somewhere in Pittsburgh. Although being the visionary thinker that he was, he quickly made his rise to the top.

During his time the railroad industry was booming, and this created many other highly profitable markets. He chose to get into the iron and steel business, one that would prove to be incredibly profitable at that time in history.

Once he had been established he began to share with others the secrets of success. His philosophy of success can be seen throughout the works of Napoleon Hill.

Without a doubt, the books on success and wealth creation that were created by Hill, much of which was based on Carnegies philosophy, have had a great impact on more people than any other similar teachings.

Carnegie was also a huge philanthropist, and he is still remembered for his generosity. He was famous for saying that The man who dies rich dies disgraced. This motto of his led him to give away much of his personal fortune, one of the largest fortunes ever built.
