There are two types of affiliate marketing programs that you can join and utilize.

The first is direct marketing where you choose a company that offers affiliate products and then promote them on a commission basis.

The only problem with this is that these companies do not offer their affiliates any training, and therefore you are left to figure everything out on your own.

This can be rather difficult, time consuming, and sometimes overwhelming.

That is why I recommend people who are first starting out in the Internet Marketing arena to join an affiliate program that is designed to help newcomers get their feet wet.

Before joining a program do the research to see what kind of training you will get, rather than spending hundreds or even thousands on books and systems.

A good affiliate marketing program, even ones that are free to join, will offer you training and plenty of resource material to get you well versed with many Internet Marketing methods and other home business essentials.

Remember that taking a small amount of time to research and choose the best program will save you countless hours, a lot of frustration, and may ultimately make or break your home business venture.
