I always knew that more affiliates fail than succeed, but I did not know how bad the affiliate marketing statistics really are. It is estimated that out of the millions of people who attempt to make money with affiliate marketing, only about 5% actually succeed. That’s right, 95% of all internet income seekers do not make any money at all. At first this came as somewhat of a shock to me, but then I began to realize why this is. For starters, the internet has become a playground for scammers, and if you are not careful you could fall for one. Scams are not hard to recognize, at least not when you know a little bit about the world of internet marketing. But so many people get sucked into scams, and this eliminates their chances of building a real income with affiliate marketing. Why do so many people fall for scams? In my opinion it is because just about everyone wants to get rich, but very few people are actually willing to put in the time and effort that building wealth actually requires. For some reason people seem to think that the internet is the place to get rich overnight. Sure, the web is a perfect place to develop a profitable home business and build a very large income, but it does not just happen overnight. But because so many people actually feel that it is possible to get rich online in a short period of time, they fall for the scams that offer false promises about wealth without work. The scammers are simply preying on the large population of people who are looking for something for nothing. But even people who avoid scams and choose reliable affiliate programs are not immune to failure. Another all too common reason for affiliate failure is a lack of commitment and persistence. It takes time to develop all types of businesses, and an affiliate based home business is not any different. It may take several weeks, several months, or even a couple of years before you develop the large income that you want. Some people start off strong, they are motivated and excited. But when they do not get results as quickly as they had hoped, they assume that it is never going to happen and they give up. Quitting is the fastest way to fail. The people that are earning a ton of money online spent time and energy to build their affiliate businesses, and you can do the same. The key to online success is choosing a reliable opportunity and then taking steps daily, without ever thinking of quitting as an option.
