My name is Travis and I am the guy behind the scenes at the Home Business Advantage. Just in case anybody was interested, I decided to share a little about myself, my life, and the passion that created this site. Growing up..... I am 24 as of June 2008, and have been an entrepreneur at heart since just a kid. Many kids dream of becoming a fireman or a doctor, and many other amazing things. I always thought a little different. From a young age I new that I never wanted to work for others. I new that owning and operating businesses was the only thing that would ever satisfy me. While many kids were playing video games and watching TV all summer, I was thinking of ways a 10 year old could earn some cash. From mowing yards to selling snow-cones, I did it all. Getting Older..... That very passion is what lead me to the Internet. I am a student, have been for way too long, although I should be done by 2009 (finally). School never held me captive like it does some people. It was always just "the thing to do," so I kept at it. But my heart was still in starting a business, so while I attended class (and some how still have a 3.65 gpa) it never inspired me. My passion kept burning inside, and I got tired of waiting to finish school before I started a real business. I wondered how a guy with no capital could create a real profitable business. I realized that people were making fortunes on the Net, so I looked into it. "Ah ha! It's so perfect! I can start an online business without heavy startup costs, and still have time to finish school." A Great Opportunity..... I began online marketing and decided to give it everything I had. I learned the ropes, got into action, and actually started getting checks in the mail. "Wow, this is for real!" I learned everything there was to know about making money online. How to advertise, how to write great ads and content, how to network, and most recently how to build Websites. And that was the start of the Home Business Advantage, but definitely only the beginning. The site started out strictly about home business development, but has turned into so much more. It also allows me to share with others the wonders I have learned about success and creating wealth, which brings me to..... Realizing Another Passion..... As I wanted to give myself an advantage, I started reading motivational self-help books. "This stuff is incredible!" I am now an AVID student of the psychology of success. This year has opened my eyes to real causes of success, achievement, and also happy living. In my opinion this knowledge has been more powerful and useful in my life than anything I have ever learned in school. I now read everything I can get my hands on. Principles of success, the psychology of creating wealth, the Law of Attraction, positive thinking, the philosophy of achievement. I even attend seminars when my favorite authors are in town. It's all wonderful stuff. And this has became a central theme that runs through this site. I have noticed how the principles that I have learned and apply bring about fantastic results in my life. And that is something that I incorporated into a site about home business development because it really is necessary. I know that by combining the information about home business development along with the success principles, anyone can succeed. Doing It For the People..... After I began to succeed, I noticed that like 99% of people who attempt to work online fail. Building a home business seems so simple, so these numbers shocked me. As I read stories and did a little investigation, I realized that so few people succeed because they don't think in the right way. They expect to fail, they don't persist, and they quit before they have a chance. When you think negatively, this is inevitebly what happens. I hope by combining my two passions, entrepreneurialism and the "inner game" of success, I can help more people get out of the 99% failure group, and join the 1% of us that are successfully earning money from home. And that's the real goal.....To help others succeed. The Support..... 
Anyway, that's about it for me. Except for the most important things in my life. I have a wonderful wife, a beautiful baby girl, and an incredibly supportive family. These are two blessings that I am forever grateful for. Most (if not all) of my success would not be possible without these truly wonderful individuals. They have believed in me and given me the courage to pursue my goals. So if any of my family reads this (I know my wife will).....Thanks for helping me make my dreams come true. Without you guys all this would all still be a dream, but you gave me the confidence to aim high and strive for it.  And how you can too! If you haven't already noticed, I am a HUGE advocate of using a personal Website for your home business development. You can make money online without a site, but it is easier, more profitable, and a lot more fun to have a site. Like I said, I was marketing online for a while before I decided to make my own site, but it was after I did that my business really began to flourish. I think a lot of people shy away from making a Website mainly because they don't know how. Others decide to give it a try, but they fail for a variety of reasons. There are few essentials for making a Website that actually generates revenue. The first is traffic. Obviously traffic=income. You couldn't have a store in the "real" world that nobody ever went to, right? Yeah that wouldn't be very profitable. Having the correct layout is also essential. You want your visitors (assuming you get any) to be able to navigate your site and find the information they need. My first attempt building a Website was pretty pathetic...to say the least. I tried Microsoft office live. They let you build a free Website, and it's pretty simple to do. You still have to figure out how to make it navigable and attract visitors, but at least it takes care of the html. Well anyway I built my little site (really little) and I was stoked. I could just see the checks filling up my mailbox. Nothing happened.....and still nothing......in fact nothing ever happened. I thought you make a Website and the Internet just "knows" about it, just by being a Website. Alright, I decided to learn everything there was to know about creating a Website that gets traffic, and a lot of it! "Wow, there's a lot to know!" I figured out that to get traffic free and consistently, you needed to get ranked in the Search Engines. The Engines pretty much run the show. It's up to them who gets traffic and who gets...well you know. I got even deeper in over my head when I realized all the details that needed to be covered to please the Engines. It seemed hopeless. Then came the day that was going to do more for my business than I could even imagine. I found SBI! SBI is short for Site Build It, and I have discussed it on a number of pages throughout the site.
