When did you last ask the question is your work from home internet business working for you? You probably have a day job and then work on your internet business in the evening and at weekends. Or is that what you did but the anticipated results in terms of sales and an increasing email list of prospects and customers juts has not happened? Thankfully, all is not lost.

You just have to dedicate a little time to ensure that the basics are correct and then take action to create momentum for all the tasks that require to be done on an ongoing basis. Not a lot of work is involved, it is just a case of a little done often. If the research of your targeted niche market has found there to be an adequate amount of prospects searching for information with a correspondingly low level of competition in terms of web page results in the search engines, then you have got the basic platform correct.

The first thing to do is to take a fresh look at the keywords and phrases that you are using or perhaps not using. Ensure that these are the exact terms that the market is using. Perhaps you are focusing on keywords where there is just too much competition. Never dismiss the effectiveness of long tail keyword phrases to bring in targeted traffic. Though the number of searches will be lower, the advantage is that the competition will normally be less and by using several of them, the total amount of potential traffic could well make them collectively useful.

Review your website and blog to see if it is correctly formatted with keywords, the tags are being used correctly and that there are no glaring errors that may put visitors off. If you have not already done so, sign up for Google Analytics and place the code on your website's source code. This will provide you with information about which websites visitors are coming from, what pages they land on, how long they stay and what keywords they use. It is a gold mine of information for you to use and refine both your website and marketing.

And what marketing and promotion for your work at home internet business are you undertaking? It is a fact that writing articles is a very effective means to attract targeted website traffic. It is easy to write and publish an article which should always be based around one keyword. It will build you credibility and authority, provide valuable back links to your website and give it a boost with its search engine ranking. Don't be afraid to try video marketing as more people now use YouTube as their first option to search for information. Plus also, find active forums within your niche and start to post comments.

Also, it is very important to concentrate on the foundation of any work from home internet business. It is your email marketing list and these are the prospects that have raised their hand and declared their interest in what you have to say and provide about the niche subject. Contact them on a regular basis with helpful information and offer them products that are complimentary to the help you are providing. A blatant buy message without any context will rarely succeed.

Start today with these measures for your work at home internet business and do a small amount of work everyday. Before long you will have built momentum and will see a difference in visitor numbers, sign ups to your email list and ultimately product sales.
