Business Tips From A Nomadic Marketing Guy by Cisco Narciso Just six short years ago I was a college student with dreams of graduating at the top of my class and instantly becoming a business guru that would be looked up to by business people from all over the world. Naturally, I was a a young student with dreams that were based more on a mix of Wall Street Journals and Hollywood thrillers than actually business acumen. I imagined my life an an international business man would be spent waiting on Limo Services as opposed to visa services. What may have only been six years seems like an eternity ago, and I have done more travelling than I would have ever expected. In all reality, this article is not really about the business struggles of rookies, but really more so about some useful tips for those wishing to start their careers overseas in other parts of the globe. Although I recovered from the initial hiccups of international aspirations, I genuinely wish that somebody would have given me some tips about traveling overseas to start my business career all those years ago. There is a good chance that I might not have heeded the advice, but it certainly would at least helped me know what to expect. So listen up, if you are planning to travel after college and would like to get some tips on how to get a great experience out of your business endeavors, pay attention. In the next few weeks we will give advice on everything from the Airport Limo to the hotels you should use. After having worked in five different US states, three different regions in the Philippines, and travelled from Tokyo to Ho Chi Minh city, I have a few things for you to do before you go. 1.) You should always avoid the mistake of taking somebody else's word for it when it comes to your business paper work and international work permits being in order once you land. It might very well be true that some companies wait until you arrive to finish all of your paper work, but when it comes to work permits and business visas, you could end up on the wrong end of a trap. Not too mention, the paper work you will need will be thousands of miles away. Make sure to steer clear of any legal work issues by spending the extra money and time to make sure all of your paper work is in order before you leave. 2.) You would be very wise to do a healthy amount of checking up on the company you are planning to work for. Truth be told, having a professional sounding receptionist or a business savvy offer letter means very little. I'm not saying that you shouldn't roll the dice every once in a while and take a little bit of a risk, but what I am saying is that you should be well informed about what type of risk you are taking so that you can have a solid plan B. 3.) You should never go in with the expectations that a c heck will be waiting for you once you arrive. Countries around the world have many different ways of handling pay roll, tax code, and pay distributions. Some times the work permits take a bit to iron out, ALWAYS bring extra money, like a few months of salary so that you can survive in the event of this very common mishap. We have several other tips, and we will continue to publish those in the future, so stay tuned! If you are planning a trip for business or pleasure, make sure you check us out. When it comes to airport transportation, town car chaurffeurs, and limousine services, we are always ready to help you out!
