Building an Affiliate Marketing Business on AutopilotBuilding an Affiliate Marketing Business on Autopilot By Harriet L Reed I am a retired educator who is attempting to build an online business on autopilot. Even though I no longer work full-time, I find it necessary to have a part-time job outside the home to supplement my current income. If I had a successful affiliate marketing business, I would be able to quit my day job, and work from home full-time. This would allow me to set my own pace and schedule, and be my own boss. If the business were set up on autopilot, I might have to work fewer hours than I currently do. All this seems like a pipe dream, but I am going to put forth great effort, and be positive that it will come to pass. To learn about affiliate marketing, and how to build a business on autopilot, I searched the internet. There I found a program called Internet Income University. It appeared to be reputable, had information for "newbies", as well as experienced affiliate marketers, and the start-up cost was minimal. I choose it to provide information, help, and support. The first thing that Internet Income University did was set me up with a website that had income streams, so I was ready to go. This was done within twenty-four hours. Next, I needed to learn how to drive traffic to my website. Several free methods were suggested, such as writing articles, or blogs, and/or producing videos. It was recommended that I start with one of the three. The most desirable was writing articles. One of the co-founders of Internet Income University, Kevin Blues, personally challenged me to write and publish ten articles as a learning experience. Writing articles helps me build a home based business on autopilot in two ways. By using appropriate keywords, the articles will move closer to the beginning of the line in the search engines, such as Google. In selecting keywords, I use a keyword analysis tool called Keyword Evolution. It finds recommended keywords for my subject, using the amount of traffic the word or phrase receives, and the frequency with which the word is searched. When the articles are written and published, a resource box directs the reader to my website, if they want additional information. In this way, traffic is driven to the site. Each of the articles that refer a reader to the website are called back links. The more back links that a website has, the farther up the line it can move in the search engines. The idea is to have as many people as possible access the website information, and take advantage of what is there. I am working on moving my website closer to the front of the search engines, and writing articles to build back links. I am keeping a positive attitude that these efforts will make my business on autopilot a success. Harriet L. Reed is a retired educator who is building an online business on autopilot.
